Predictors Of Breakfast Consumption Among Iranian Students: Applying Social Cognitive Theory

Background — Despite the known significance of regular breakfast consumption, skipping or inadequate consumption is common among students. Social cognitive theory (SCT) one most effective theories in predicting nutritional behaviors, especially breakfast-related behaviors Objective This study aimed to determine factors related based on SCT students Islamic Azad University Kermanshah Branch. Methods In this cross-sectional study, 206 Branch were selected availability sampling. An online questionnaire consisting demographic information scales, variables and behavior was sent student groups. Data analyzed using descriptive statistical tests, chi-square test, linear regression correlation analysis SPSS software version 16. Results On average, consume 4.39 times a week. Overall, 17.6% had completely ignored 42.4% them ate irregularly between six Among components social theory, self-efficacy observational learning predicted 55.7% changes (P<0.001). Conclusions It seems that useful framework for young people, it possible improve by designing implementing appropriate educational interventions theory.
